Longevity Peptides

Longevity peptides are the mitochondrial, metabolic, and cellular-ageing research compounds studied in longevity and healthspan models — and three of them approach the same pathway from completely different directions.

NAD+ supplies the coenzyme itself. 5-Amino-1MQ inhibits the enzyme that consumes its precursor. MOTS-c raises it by a third route, from a peptide encoded in the mitochondrial genome. Epithalon binds DNA directly. Glutathione is the principal endogenous antioxidant. SS-31 targets the inner mitochondrial membrane, binding cardiolipin. Every compound HPLC-tested, mass-spec verified, molecular weight published. Ships from Canada. Research use only.

NAD+

The coenzyme itself, not a precursor — the molecule sirtuins and PARP enzymes actually consume. Not a peptide. NAD+ doesn’t readily cross cell membranes, which is a real limitation for administration but irrelevant for in-vitro work, where it’s the correct reagent. MW 663.43. 500mg. → Buy NAD+ Canada

MOTS-c

A 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in the mitochondrial genome — not nuclear DNA. It activates AMPK indirectly, by inhibiting the folate cycle so that AICAR accumulates. Described as an exercise mimetic; prohibited by WADA from 2024. 40mg. → Buy MOTS-c Canada

5-Amino-1MQ

Not a peptide — a small-molecule NNMT inhibitor, and not water-soluble (requires DMSO or ethanol). In the pivotal study, treated mice lost fat mass with no change in food intake — a different lever entirely from the GLP-1s. 10mg. → Buy 5-Amino-1MQ Canada

Epithalon

A four-amino-acid tetrapeptide that binds DNA directly, in the major groove, preferentially at methylated cytosine. The telomerase claim was single-group and unreplicated for two decades — until an independent 2025 replication at Brunel University London. MW 390.35. 10mg. → Buy Epithalon Canada

Glutathione

The principal antioxidant inside human cells, present at millimolar concentrations. A tripeptide joined through an unusual gamma bond that peptidases cannot cleave — which is why it survives in the cytosol instead of being digested. MW 307.32. 600mg. → Buy Glutathione Canada

SS-31

Elamipretide — a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide that concentrates over 1,000-fold in the inner mitochondrial membrane and binds cardiolipin, the phospholipid that scaffolds the electron transport chain. FDA-approved as Forzinity for Barth syndrome, September 2025. Currently out of stock. → Buy SS-31 Canada

Frequently Asked Questions

What are longevity peptides?

Compounds studied in mitochondrial function, metabolic regulation, and cellular ageing. Not all are peptides — NAD+ is a coenzyme and 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule. Both are included for their metabolic research profile, and both are labelled as what they actually are.

How do NAD+, 5-Amino-1MQ, and MOTS-c relate?

Three compounds, one pathway, three completely different mechanisms. NAD+ supplies the coenzyme. 5-Amino-1MQ inhibits NNMT — the enzyme that consumes nicotinamide, NAD+’s precursor — so more of it survives to become NAD+. MOTS-c has been reported to raise cellular NAD+ by a third route entirely. They aren’t substitutes for each other.

Is Epithalon’s research replicated?

It is now. For two decades the entire evidence base came from Vladimir Khavinson’s group, and the absence of independent replication was the central and legitimate criticism. In 2025, a group at Brunel University London published an independent study reporting increased telomere length in human cell lines — and proposed the mechanism may be ALT rather than telomerase.

Which of these are actually peptides?

Epithalon, MOTS-c, and glutathione are peptides. NAD+ is a coenzyme. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule. The distinction is practical, not pedantic: 5-Amino-1MQ won’t dissolve in bacteriostatic water, and NAD+ is far less stable in solution than a lyophilized peptide. Every product page states what the compound actually is.

Are they legal in Canada?

None is an authorized health product in Canada — no DIN, no NPN, not approved for human use. None is a controlled substance. MOTS-c is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency in competitive sport, which is a separate matter from its legal status.
